LEGENDBORN is a contemporary fantasy set in the modern day American South that centers a sixteen year old Black girl heroine within a reimagining of Arthurian legends.
Booklist said “Legendborn is a story about how old histories inform the present[.] Deonn’s contemporary fantasy is a cultural gem that will connect readers with their roots in the most gut-punching, unapologetic of ways.” And from Bookpage: “Legendborn establishes Deonn as an important new voice in YA. Its gorgeous prose and heart-splitting honesty compel an eyes-wide-open reading experience.”
Legendborn was named a best of 2020 YA SFF by Tor, best of 2020 by the NYPL, Booklist, Bookpage, School Library Journal, and more.
